Trailhead may give preference to one of the following:

Previous ministry experience.

Seminary degree from an evangelical seminary.

Experience/certification in biblical counseling.

Position Overview:

Pastor/Elder: Primarily, the Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship will be a pastor/elder/shepherd of Trailhead.  As such, he will be expected to:

• Lead by example, exhibiting a vital and growing personal relationship with Jesus (1 Peter 5:3).
• Be able to teach the Word and equip the church for the work of ministry (1 Timothy 3:2, Ephesians 4:12). This includes the ability to occasionally fill the pulpit in preaching.
• Routinely be involved in praying for, visiting (home, hospital), and counseling the members of Trailhead.

Worship: The Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship will oversee and lead the worship/music ministry of Trailhead.  Doing so, he will:

• Be the main worship leader of the church.
• Seek to strengthen the worship and congregational singing of Trailhead.
• Be in charge of recruiting, training, and scheduling worship and sound booth volunteers.
• Assist the Lead Pastor in planning all Trailhead worship services through Planning Center.
• Take care of all necessary CCLI reporting.

Discipleship: The Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship will be tasked with further developing a culture of discipleship at Trailhead.  This means he will:

• Oversee and seek to grow our small group ministry at Trailhead.
• Train men and women to lead small groups, Bible studies, and one-on-one discipleship relationships.
• Give oversight and guidance to all Trailhead Bible studies and Sunday School classes.
