Principal Function:
The Deaf Pastor is responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive, salvation-focused ministry for the Deaf congregation and their families. The individual called to this position will disciple and equip Deaf members to share the Word and Love of Christ through Bible studies and will guide the congregation in matters of faith, providing pastoral care and ensuring the spiritual well-being of members. The Deaf Pastor reports directly to the Senior Pastor.

Parkwood Baptist Church has a 75-year history of mission-focused service to the cities of Concord and Kannapolis, as well as the greater Cabarrus County area. We are a multi-generational church with 500+ weekly attendees and a Deaf ministry that has been a key part of our identity for nearly 40 years. The Deaf ministry serves a diverse congregation and averages about 25 weekly attendees with services on Sunday mornings and Bible studies on Sunday and Wednesday evenings. The Deaf ministry integrates with the hearing congregation for worship on the first Sunday morning of each month and is fully included in all other ministries and programs of the church. The Deaf ministry works closely with other Deaf groups from around the state with the goal of reaching the Deaf community with the Gospel of Christ in their heart language.
