As Executive Director of Ministries, you get to advance the Gospel by overseeing Ministries at Velocity Church. You lead the team of Directors that oversee Location Services, Next Gen, Outreach and Groups Ministries. You are responsible for identifying, developing, and coaching leaders, providing pastoral care, and creating, implementing, and managing systems to foster and facilitate growth in the ministry areas you oversee.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and Lead: Build and guide a team of directors responsible for executing the vision and reinforcing the culture of Velocity Church.
- Provide Strategic Oversight: Offer coaching and direction to ministry leaders, ensuring alignment with church-wide goals.
- Long-Range Planning: Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team on key initiatives and strategic planning.
- Communication: Serve as the liaison between ministry areas and the Lead Pastor, ensuring consistent communication and alignment.
- Leadership Structure: Establish clear leadership layers and development processes within the ministries.
- Strategy Development: Partner with ministry directors to create and implement strategies that support broader church objectives.
- Vision Implementation: Communicate and implement vision for excellence and growth in all ministry areas on behalf of the Lead Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Ministry, Business, or a related field, with proven leadership and organizational experience.
- Passion: A deep passion for the local church and its mission.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Basecamp, ClickUp, and Planning Center or similar CMS.
- Key Competencies: Strong relational and emotional intelligence, effective time management, and excellent communication skills.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
- Coaching and Development: Ministry directors should demonstrate measurable growth in their leadership, supported by regular coaching.
- Ministry Growth: Ministry areas should demonstrate consistent and healthy growth, both in terms of team health and objective metrics.
- Strategic Alignment: All ministries should align with the broader church-wide goals and objectives, as established by the Lead Pastor and Executive Leadership Team.
- Cultural Health: The church culture should be thriving and cohesive, with strong relationships, a unified vision, and an atmosphere that fosters spiritual growth and community.
- Operational Efficiency: Ministry operations should run smoothly and efficiently, with clear processes, accountability, and financial viability.
