Job Title: High School Director
Location: Resurrection Church, Bakersfield, CA

Reports To: Family Ministries Director
Job Summary:
Resurrection Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Director to lead and nurture our 9th through 12th-grade students in their spiritual growth and faith journey. The ideal candidate will have a heart for teenagers, a deep love for Jesus
Christ, and the ability to create engaging and meaningful programs that inspire and equip high schoolers to live out their faith. The High School Director will work collaboratively with church leadership, volunteers, and parents to foster a vibrant and supportive
community for our youth.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ministry program for high school students, including worship, Bible study, discipleship, and service opportunities.
- Plan and lead weekly gatherings, special events, retreats, and mission trips that are spiritually enriching and age-appropriate.
- Provide pastoral care and support to high school students, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence with a Christ-centered perspective.
- Encourage and equip students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and live out their faith daily.
Teaching and Discipleship:
- Lead a team to teach biblically sound and engaging lessons relevant to high school students' lives.
- Develop and oversee small groups that foster student community, accountability, and spiritual growth.
- Mentor and disciple students, helping them to grow in their understanding of the Bible and their faith.
Leadership and Administration:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of volunteers to support the high school ministry.
- Collaborate with the Youth Ministry Director and other church staff to align high school ministry goals with the overall mission and vision of Resurrection Church.
- Manage the high school ministry budget, resources, and calendar of events.
- Ensure that all ministry activities are conducted in a safe and secure environment, adhering to church policies and procedures.
Community and Parental Involvement:
- Build strong relationships with parents, providing them with resources and support to help them guide their children’s spiritual growth.
- Foster a sense of community among high school families through events, communication, and regular interaction.
- Engage with the broader church community to promote the high school ministry and encourage intergenerational connections.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in youth ministry, Christian education, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth ministry, specifically working with high school students.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor young people in a Christian context.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative and engaging teaching style that resonates with high school students.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
