We have been retained by a rapidly growing, world-wide multi-media ministry based in Phoenix, AZ, seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") to serve on the leadership team and forward their mission of bringing the Good News of Yeshua (Jesus) to people around the world, connecting with them through missions, education, relief efforts and other programs. The ministry's message reaches millions each week through a variety of media (television, print, social media, internet, etc.) as well as extensive personal interaction by our staff in many corners of the world.

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Utilize your talent, business acumen, financial expertise, and heart of service, working closely with the CEO and Executive Vice President to further the ministry's vision, while establishing strategic and operational plans, operational efficiencies, and lean initiatives
  • Foster and mentor a culture of meaningful metrics and measurable results
  • Be responsible for directing the fiscal functions in accordance with ministry goals as well as generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the International Financial Reporting Standards, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the ECFA and other U.S regulatory and advisory organizations.
  • Instill individual responsibility and ownership of stated goals and objectives
  • Collaborate closely with the EVP on budgets, forecasts, and cash flows

The successful candidate will have at least eight years accounting experience and have held an accounting/finance leadership role in an organization with a budget of at least $25 million/year.  Degree required and CPA strongly preferred. International experience a plus.

 

Additional detail regarding the CFO's duties:

 

*Monitors monthly financial operations, including analysis and reports, and gives guidance to staff.

*Works closely with operations team on issues that affect financial outcomes

*Manages all international finance operations ensuring compliance with NGO or other entities while adhering to ministry standards.

*Implements organizational processes for the purpose of applying effective management control systems and policies.

*Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the organization’s fiscal function and performance. Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies.

*Appraises the organization’s financial position and provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial and operating reports and financial trends. Directs and coordinates the establishment of organization budget programs.

*Directs, consolidates, and analyzes all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports, including any desirable analysis of monthly department reports

*Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports, interprets, and supports team based analysis of the results of operations to all levels of management

*Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.

*Assures appropriate protections for the assets of the business through regular assessment and use of internal controls, internal auditing and utilization of best practices for operating an ethical and morale business.

*Manages and oversees all outside audit functions ensuring compliance, best practices and improved efficiencies.

*Provides technical, financial advice and strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization

*Serves as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter

*Evaluates of the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (when available) of individuals.

*Negotiates, coordinates and leads all matters related to external and/or internal financial audits:tax planning, preparations, and filing; and risk management contracting.

*Manages the selection, training, development and appraisals of staffing by providing mentoring, coaching on a regular and consistent basis

*Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department goals and objectives for the ministry.

*Oversees and manages ministry investments at the direction of the Board

 

SALARY $115,000 OR GREATER DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
