Pastor of Outreach

Grace Bible Church
Mineral Point, Wisconsin, United States

Categories: Church/Ministry
Job Type: Full-Time
Employee Workplace: Unspecified
Job Description:

The Cowboy Country Church in Mineral Point, WI is searching for a candidate to become our Pastor of Outreach.

Currently, we serve the community of Southwest Wisconsin in several ways: through our traditional Sunday morning Adult Bible Study, Sunday school and Worship service; through our relaxed, come-as-you-are, Gospel focused, Tuesday evening Cowboy Church service; and through our robust, Christ centered horsemanship program.

Our community provides many opportunities, as well as challenges, for someone with a passion for outreach. Attendance in our horsemanship programs has seen rapid growth.  Last year alone, over a hundred individuals from our area participated in one or more of the horse related activities.  Additionally, we are developing a Biblical Counseling/Discipleship Center, a vibrant youth ministry, and small group Bible studies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Pastor of Outreach shall be a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, having accepted Him personally by faith through the witness of the Word of God.  He shall be convinced of his call, by God’s Holy Spirit, to this ministry.  Since the person who holds this position will automatically be a member and an Elder of the church, he must be in complete accord with the church’s Constitution and Bylaws, with no reservations.  He must meet the criteria for such a position of leadership as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

His ministry will have special emphasis on the activities of Cowboy Country Church, which is the outreach mission of Grace Bible Church.  Since he will lead our horsemanship programs, a strong interest in and knowledge of horses is important, although horsemanship is the secondary aspect of this call.  Additionally, he must be sufficiently educated and experienced to fulfill the duties listed below:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The man who functions in this position will be answerable to the Pastor on a regular basis (for spiritual enrichment, support, advice, and discussion; for assignments, projects, tasks, etc.) and to the Elders on a periodic basis.

He will attend, when not involved in other church ministries, all regular and special worship services, prayer meetings, and business meetings.

His duties will focus on outreach.  He will work with the Pastor to create, plan, and oversee efforts to reach into our community, which is a segment of rural Southwest Wisconsin.

He will oversee our horsemanship programs, which are our primary means of reaching into the community.  His duties will include supplying spiritual content, leading adult and youth horsemanship training classes, and overseeing summer programs, including Cowboy Camp, Adventure Week for Teens, family camping, and gymkhanas.

He will be responsible for instituting, strategizing, and implementing follow-up programs, wherein he will seek to remain in constant contact with the children and adults brought into the church by the outreach programs, with the goal of leading them to Christ and into church involvement.  And he can expect to participate in other youth programs in the church.

He will also provide additional spiritual and physical support: filling the pulpit in the Pastor’s absence, counseling, teaching, and performing visitations when needed.
