Focused on reaching as many women as possible, CareNet maintains advanced and sophisticated metrics to evaluate their progress toward a ministry of excellence. Strong leadership has made CareNet of DuPage a leader among the pregnancy resource centers in the Chicago area. With a staff of 24 and an annual budget of 1.6 million, CareNet enjoys a reputation of being innovative, extremely competent and on the cutting edge of the pregnancy center ministry nationally as well as locally. The goal of serving Jesus Christ by being the best permeates all of CareNet’s programs and activities.

Toward this end, CareNet is seeking a Vice President of Development who will be responsible for organizational philanthropy and overseeing donor relationships among key constituencies. This individual is a key member of the senior leadership and is responsible for providing the leadership, direction, and management of all income streams. They will lead a staff of gift officers, special event staff, and support staff who represent the development department. This role will serve as both a key strategist and an action-focused implementer, overseeing the strategic leadership of campaigns in partnership with the President. This position will focus on achieving fundraising goals and maintaining relationships with existing donors, supporting the President and Board in their fundraising responsibilities and working with the President to design and implement strategies to attract a new, next generation of donors for the ministry.

Although formal education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of the new Vice President of Development, they will likely at minimum hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A fund raising professional with CRFE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification would be especially qualified for this role. The ideal candidate will have experience personally cultivating major and planned gifts, as they will manage a personal portfolio of individual partners who have the capacity to make gifts in the five and six-figure range. The Vice President of Development will be results-oriented, resourceful, energetic, and creative with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Using multiple strategies and methods, this person will position CareNet with key donor audiences, build new constituencies, and elicit increasing support.

CareNet has offices throughout the greater DuPage County (Chicago metropolitan area). The Chicagoland area is dynamic and diverse – and readily celebrates the varied cultural backgrounds of the people. A great Chicagoland transit system makes it possible to hop on a train in the suburbs and travel to the heart of the city of Chicago any day of the week.  The city is home to many major league sports teams, museums, great restaurants, and beautiful Lake Michigan.
