I. Job Summary
Develops and executes assigned regions’ overall strategic plan for furthering the ministry of Search For Jesus
(SFJ)
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
- Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
- Consistently participates in daily BGEA staff devotions
- Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
- Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
III. Team Participation
- Leads regional Area Coordinators with professionalism and spiritual maturity
- Initiates strategic planning to establish and meet regional goals, and supports national initiatives, including growth of SFJ
- Oversees implementation of the ministry plan throughout the region
- Gains and maintains respect of, connection with, and acceptance by a broad range of evangelical leadership
- Works collaboratively and regularly with other Regional Managers
- Monitors monthly expenditures and annual budget related to assigned region
- Responds to requests for regional information and activity in timely manner
- Participates actively in and contributes to all regional training/events/etc.
- Ensures that ongoing ministry throughout the region is being performed according to established SFJ protocols and standards
- Ensures that policies and procedures are understood and implemented by Area Coordinators, as set forth in Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Policy and Procedures Manual
IV. Volunteer Management
- Remains committed to and effectively implements the High Impact process of recruiting, selecting, equipping, leading, and developing leader volunteers
- Ensures that Area Coordinators are growing and developing Area Teams
- Ensures that local events and conferences are well supported
- Reports on regional activity, successes, and challenges on a regular basis
V. Church Relations
- Ensures that church follow-up and other initiatives are completed within an acceptable timeframe
- Ensures that church partnerships are encouraged and well supported
VI. Community Relations
- Represents Search For Jesus at local and regional events as needed
VII. Prayer Mobilization
- Supports regional and national Search For Jesus prayer initiatives
- Establishes and equips local prayer teams
- Ensures that there is an increase in the commitment to pray for the project throughout the region
VIII. Supervisory responsibilities
- Supervises Area Coordinators
- Interviews, trains regional Area Coordinators
- Plans, assigns, and directs work of Area Coordinators
- Appraises Area Coordinators’ performance, addresses complaints, and resolves conflicts
IX. Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfills additional duties assigned by the National Field Manager
X. Reporting Relationships
- Reports to National Field Manager
- Supervises Area Coordinators, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
XI. Job Specifications
A. Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor-level (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university, and five (5) or more years’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of twelve (12) credit hours of college-level Biblical studies required
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written communications
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and proprietary SFJ software tools
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial and statistical reports
- Spanish fluency helpful
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to demonstrate strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, volunteers, churches, and the
- general public
- Demonstrated consistency in devotional life, with dependability to represent Christ and the ministry well in all situations
B. Working Conditions
- Work is performed variously in conventional office setting, home office, and field locations
- Out of region travel to various events such as national volunteer conferences, national coordination meetings, and training is required
