Faith Lutheran of Spencer, Iowa is seeking a Director of Youth & Children. A little about Faith; Faith is not just any church. We started in 2010 with a new calling from God, and we’ve grown from 90 people crowded into a classroom visioning what a church should
be to now 300 people regularly gathering to praise, worship, love, serve, and go out to spread the good news. We’re a church unafraid of new ideas. Our children’s Sunday school is joyous and rooted in the Word of God. We are expanding in our commitment to
children, youth and families as we seek a full time person to serve the young people in our church and throughout the community. Our middle school/ confirmation youth experience three years of learning, service, fun and fellowship as they mature in faith and
make their own decision to follow Jesus when they confirm their faith. Christian education starts at 10:30, allowing for service time overrun and leisurely time to gather after worship. We offer Sunday School for ages 3 and up, and we always have an adult
bible study during the education hour. The city of Spencer has a nice retail sector and the regional center for medical services includes a state of the art hospital and Abben Cancer Center. Education plays an important role in the Spencer community. Grades
K-6 are housed in the elementary schools, grades 7-8 attend a recently constructed new middle school and grades 9-12 at the high school. Iowa Lakes Community College, as well as a satellite center of Buena Vista University compliment the education sector providing
opportunities for college degrees. Each year Spencer is the home of the Clay County Fair, the world’s largest county fair. Over 300,000 fair goers from all over the world attend this nine day event! The Clay County Regional Events Center offers a large spectrum
of events from bull riding to Manheim Steamroller. Spencer has much to offer individuals and families searching to find a community with excellent quality of life and experiences. Spencer is bountiful in the art and cultural activities including Arts on Grand,
Spencer Community Theater, as well as the Parker Historical Society. Spencer also has many family friendly parks, walking trails and bike trails to enjoy as well as theatre, bowling and the Spencer YMCA. There are youth and young adult sport leagues as well.
